Serenity Prayer

God, grant me the serenity to accept the things I cannot change, the courage to change the things I can,and the wisdom to know the difference.

Living one day at a time, enjoying one moment at a time, accepting hardship as a pathway to peace; taking, as Jesus did, this sinful world as it is, not as I would have it; trusting that You will make all things right if I surrender to your will; so that I may be reasonably happy in this life and supremely happy with You forever in the next.     Amen.

One area we can be of service to you is The ARC. The link here gives a detailed overview of the ARC Program. The ARC is a long-term residential recovery program (10+ months). Perhaps you could use an intense program like we have.

If you use it wisely, you can make your future better than your past. We won’t treat you like a “patient” here. We won’t take your responsibilities for you. We will supply you with the tools of new information, but the life-formation you need comes through your use of these tools. There are no “quick cures” or band-aids for alcoholism and drug addiction. You must be willing to reevaluate your very purpose for living if you want to benefit from your stay at the ARC. We promise to try to love you and be understanding of your needs. We hope you will do the same for us! We will tolerate each other’s imperfections and learn to love each other anyway. We invite you to become a member of our family and to join us on our pilgrimage to heaven. Both the staff and recovering addicts here are painfully aware that we haven’t “arrived” yet. We are not where we want to be, but we thank the Lord that we're not where we used to be!

We know that you can’t really commit yourself to the program here without having some time to “check us out.” We have designed the Induction period to help you become familiar with us; to look us over. You can download the Induction Manual on the Downloads page to see if the program works for us. I you can't see any evidence that we “practice what we preach,” then you certainly won’t want to practice it for yourself. We hope that you will see someone different in us, someone that you can trust. That Someone is Jesus.

On the other hand, we will look you over too! We look for sincerity on your part. We do not need to spend a lot of time trying to help people who are just playing games with us and do not really want to change. Since your rehabilitation is your responsibility, we look for signs that you are ready to accept that responsibility, and to let God change your life.

We are glad to serve any of you who are serious about changing your life. We hope you will enjoy your stay here at the ARC, and make the most of it! Make each day count toward your future goals. It is my prayer that you will be healed, restored and empowered to live life as God planned for you – in close relationship with your Creator and in victory over sin and death.
