Click Picture To Visit Advent Recovery Ministry is the recovery ARM of the local church. We operate The ARC of Alva, a transitional living house in Alva, Florida, and work with area churches and organizations to help reduce the terrible cost to society brought on by substance abuse. About 90% of those in jails and prisons today are there directly or indirectly because of addiction. If they do not receive help, about 78% of those released will re-offend. We want to help stop this revolving door cycle and teach the men how to be an asset to society, not a drain on the system. A tax-payer, not a tax burden. We believe that only through a complete change of heart by submission to Jesus Christ will a life truly be changed. We use a biblical 12 Step approach, and teach that a person must change from a self-centered life as a taker to a Christ-centered life as a giver to be completely set free from a substance abusing lifestyle. Our ministry is unashamedly a Bible based faith approach to a successful substance-free life.
